Super Bowl: Will Princess the Predictive Camel Be Right?

This year’s Super Bowl between the New England Patriots and the New York Giants is right around the corner this weekend and everyone’s weighing in with their predictions. While the Las Vegas oddsmakers favor the Patriots by a field goal, Princess the Predictive Camel disagrees, predicting the Giants. She is not just any camel either; Princess went 17 for 22 in the 2008 season. While that’s not a bad record, she’s not undefeated like Paul the Octopus was during the World Cup. Unfortunately, no one asked for Puxatony Phil‘s Super Bowl opinion.

Talent Analytics Bowl 2: Gut vs Data
Last year, in Talent Analytics’ innaugural battle between Gut vs Data, “Gut” aka the Green Bay Packers, won even though the data (higher seed, Vegas odds, better defensive stats) pointed to the Pittsburgh Steelers claiming victory. This year, the data (Vegas) suggests the Pats will win, while Gut (and Princess the Camel) predicts the underdog Giants. Then again, the same could have been said 4 years ago and ..well, nevermind. Still hurts.

What’s your prediction for this weekend’s Super Bowl?

Are you relying more heavily on your intuition to make the decision or considering the data?
